How does the transfer of an ArenA certificate work?

A certificate is registered by name in the register of certificate holders. The transfer is settled through the administration of the Johan Cruijff ArenA, the Stichting Administratiekantoor (STAK). Payment is only required after the transfer has been approved. We guide the entire process from start to finish.

Registered, in a register

ArenA certificates are registered share certificates, administered by Stichting Administratiekantoor Stadion Amsterdam (STAK). Every transfer therefore means: a new entry in the register of certificate holders. Your ownership is formally settled, just as neatly as at the 1990 issue.

The steps

Once buyer and seller have reached agreement, the transfer is set in motion. Both sign the required transfer documents, which are then submitted to the competent administration of the Johan Cruijff ArenA, the STAK. The administration verifies the details and assesses the transfer.

You only pay after approval

After the STAK's approval, the final signing of the transfer is prepared. Only after that approval, and prior to the final signing, is the buyer required to pay. You never pay for a transfer that has not yet been approved.

Registration as certificate holder

Once the transfer has been finally signed and administratively processed, the buyer is registered as the new certificate holder in the register of certificate holders. From that moment, all rights attached to the certificate pass to the new owner, including the right to take up the season ticket for that seat, in accordance with the conditions applicable at that time.

The running season ticket

If a certificate is sold mid-season, the season ticket already taken up transfers to the buyer pro rata for the remaining matches. Nobody misses a match.

Gifts and inheritance

The certificate is a registered property right: it can be gifted and it forms part of an estate. In those cases too, the registration is updated through the administration. We also assist with these transfers within the family; this is exactly where the right with no time limit shows its value.

How fast does it go

The administrative settlement takes place once all required documents have been correctly submitted and the conditions for transfer have been met.
